Comparing Two Major Auto classified Portal of Pakistan

1.      Introduction

The purpose of this assignment is to compare three websites while focusing on screen design and using CRAP model. All the sites are similar in terms of their nature of service and offerings. They are aimed at similar demographics even both the sites are similar in terms of the gender of their target audience. The three website which are selected to compare are;

o   www.apnicar.com

o   www.driven.pk

Driven.pk

If we open the website of www.driven.pk, the user will get a good appealing and a well aligned Home page. Mostly every website have three portions the header, body and the footer. If we look at the header of www.driven.pk it have a well-organized header which contains only the logo and the navigation. The logo is left aligned which is giving the website a more professional touch. The navigation is nice and simple and is left aligned and is complementing the logo. Plus the login for member is also placed in navigation which is easy to locate and do the required action.

Now we have the body of the website which have the search bar, www.driven.pk has given the complete full width to the search bar which gives user enough space to write and use the search bar with not complications. Then they have the portion for employer’s showcase, which have given equal and good size and space to every logo they are not so big and not so small. It have total of 5 columns and 10 rows. Every logo is center aligned in the box and is with white background which is good for job seekers to see and view the

Then they have two sections aligned side by side to each other utilizing the space efficiently.. They have not place anything in a not professional order and everything is aligned so well. Similarly in footers section they just have the copyright details aligned in the center of the page.

Apnicar.com.pk

Coming to the apnicar.com.pk website, the first look of the main page gives a bit overloaded look. Due to putting so many things on the main page. Their focus on the alignment is distracted and things are not so arranged according to the header, footer and body style. The header alignment is good which have logo in left alignment and an ad banner on the right alignment. But things gets bit messy right after the header for example the search bar is left aligned but those banners and a box saying ‘ why apnicar.com.pk this should not be placed at the very top of the main page.

These ad banners no doubt brings more revenue to the site but also decrease the worth and professional look of the website. The four boxes which are placed right after the search bar should not be placed here this is because they do not have the navigation bar for the website and due to it they have given boxes like this. Putting a navigation before the search bar would have solve this issue.

Apnicar.com.pk has given a huge search navigation in the footer of the page they can have it in a drop down navigation which would have saved the space and would have given more professional and pleasing effect to the user of the website and which could also be continent for the user to use it rather than giving a huge amount of text at the bottom of the page.

www.driven.pk seems to be the best and will be leading the industry in the futre.
